“Working Mothers” By Farhana Iffath

Failed in many subjects while in the school, bullied by friends and cousins for not being able to communicate properly in any language (English, Urdu and Tamil), today Farhana Iffath is the Author of this book “WORKING MOTHERS, You are just W.o.W (Woman of Wonders)”, Fellow in Psychology Counselling, Child & Adolescent Counselling, Marriage Counselling & Family Therapy, Founder of “FIND YOUR HAPPINESS” (Life transformation Coaching), International Keynote speaker and also an IT professional ALL AT THE SAME TIME!!

Let’s dive into the interview with the author to know the journey of “Working Mothers”

Can you tell us a little about your book?

My book is all about every mother whom I have referred as ‘Working Mothers’ – Be it ‘office going’ mothers or ‘stay-at-home’ mothers. Interesting thing is, I have picked real time stories from across the world and of woman from almost all streams & all sorts of experiences that I have carefully matched with the daily emotions that each of undergo as mothers.

Is there a specific event that inspired this story or was this an out-of-the-blue idea?

More than calling out a specific event, I call it realisation. As I became a mother myself, I started understanding and realising what my mother had been going through all these years. And all the complaints I have had against her started vanishing – I started respecting and loving my mother more than ever that I ever did during my childhood.

What got you writing in the first place?

I always wanted to express myself & my feelings. As a child, I was always bullied for speaking a lot and eventually I stopped expressing as a child. It took me many years to find out that my highest intelligence lies on Verbal/Word Intelligence. I started honing my skills on which I’m naturally born with. And chose to start writing to express my emotions as a Mother where I wanted to voice out emotions of many other unsung mothers include me

What was your impression of your first draft when you read it?

I felt like I have overcome my own limiting beliefs. I felt like I will be heard. I felt like, I’m going to make many emotions of many mothers to be heard through my book and inspire every woman/mother who will be reading my book where the reader can relate herself to minimum one story & more assuring that she is not alone.

Which part of your story connects the most with you? Why?Chapter 4: Multi-Tasking Queen and Chapter 9: Know Your Child (KYC). Chapter 4: Is all about woman in general. The basic trait of multi-tasking in a woman that grows more when you become a mother. This chapter would explain how I learnt the art of multi-tasking and balance everything effectively. Even now, it is so evident that I have multiple careers & it is all about how one can sustain multi-tasking without compromising anything.

Chapter 9: Is all about how I learnt about ‘Multiple-Intelligence’ and how learning/being educated about multiple-intelligence would help a mother to understand her children and understand herself better to create a life-long bonding.

What makes your book the one to read?

My book is a collection of emotions that every mother undergoes every day that I have put together as stories combining from different types of mothers grouping together in various interesting topics like SMART PARENTING, The GUILT TRIP, LIKE A PHOENIX FROM THE ASHES, SUPER MOMS, MOTHERHOOD – KEEPING HOPE ALIVE and so on

What was the best advice you got while writing?

Every Mother should be encouraged and supported. A small encouragement like ‘Mom, You cooked well’, ‘Mom, You are my strength’, ‘Mom, You are very supportive’ could be like a crown presented to her.

Also, that every mother should find “ME TIME”, meaning take time for herself and look after herself beyond anyone else.

Do you have another plot brewing?Yes of course – As I have now overcome my limiting belief of expressing myself and have learnt many things along the way, I definitely want to put together my learnings, my experiences and my vision/mission for a better world with amazing mothers, fathers creating beautiful families and loving children who will take care of their parents until the parents are alive and pass on the family bonding & traditions to the generations to come.

I’m thinking to call my next book as “A.B.C series of Mindful Parenting”.

On that note, we can’t wait for what comes in this author’s story. AMAZON LINK: https://www.amazon.in/dp/9355651015
