Let’s dive into the interview with the author to know the journey behind “The Avenging Angel”:
Can you tell us a little about your book?
The book, The Avenging Angel, the second in a series of books, is a fantasy book.
In the first book, we see what Avalyn has gone through and how Nikolai has tried to help
her heal and grow as a person. In this installment, the readers will see her face in her past so
that she can finally move on and move further along on her journey of self-discovery.
What got you writing in the first place?
When I was young, my mother used to tell me bedtime stories every night. Eventually, she
ran out of new stories to say to me and motivated me to come up with stories myself and then
narrate them to her. Those are one of my fondest childhood memories.
I suppose it was only a matter of time before I started writing those stories.
What was the best advice you got while writing?
The best advice I received was to keep going. Most writers start writing and even get halfway but don’t actually finish anything. It is usually because of a lack of motivation or because they think that what they wrote wasn’t good enough. But if they believe in themselves even a little bit and power through the tough days, they too can write a novel.
Who’s your all-time favorite author? Which book of his/hers made you fall in love
My all-time favorite author is NinyaTippett. Her book Mischievous Mrs. Maxfield was one of the first books I read that made me think that she was a fantastic author.
What is your evergreen tip to the writers out there?
Don’t care about what others think or say about your work, especially your initial works. If
you have a story to tell, don’t let anyone stop you. The only one you have to satisfy and
make happy is yourself.
What was your hardest scene to write?
The hardest scene to write in this book would be the part where Avalyn kills Emilio. It was
a heavy scene that I wrote and rewrote multiple times to properly enunciate Avalyn's
feelings and do justice to her. And I wanted the scene to be perfect because in my opinion,
the scene was the most important one in both books – The Werewolf King and The
Do you have another plot brewing?
I do! The Werewolf King is just the first book of many. I have stories of like the next 4 books
in my mind. Check out what I’m up to on my website. (add link)
